Take It Slow

I was lucky enough to be able to see Ray Wilson's show in Radio Trójka that was planned to be recorded as a part of Live DVD. It was Wilson's fourth concert here. First one was in 2003 and was released as An Audience And Ray Wilson live album, then Scotsman visited this radio station six years later with his band called Stiltskin. His last visit was a less then year ago. It was a special concert made for Polish Bruce Springsteen fans and Ray was a special guest there. It was a great show with Wilson and his guitar only. Concert on 14th April 2013 celebrated Ray's 20th anniversary in music business. It was a second 20 Years And More show in Poland after the gig in Katowice, which took place on 22nd February 2013.

April 2013 is a good month for ex-Genesis singer (1996-98) fans becuase on 15.04.13 (in Poland, 19.04.13 in Germany) his new album Chasing Rainbows was released. It contains 12 brand news songs and some new musicians playing on it. The most important to mention is obviously Marcin Kajper, who plays a saxophone. The man responsible for the mastering is Yogi Lang, the lead singer of RPWL. You may have heard of them because of the song Roses, from World Through My Eyes album. Ray was asked to sing it.  Luckily I got my own copy of Chasing Rainbows a few days before the official release so I could prepare myself to the upcoming show. At first sight fans may be confused by the amount of instruments put on the record. Ray was always famous of his solo stuff that was rather acoustic with some help from electric guitars from time to time. But here it's different. String section, saxophone and more. But when you get used to it you will start enjoying it. The plot of the album can be found as similar to the content of previous cd, Unfulfillment. Chasing Rainbows is about chasing your dreams, finding that pot of gold by the end of the rainbow. However the reality shows that when you eventually fulfill your dream you won't feel satisfied. You will not see it as the end, but as a start of somehing new. This may sound pesimistic, but the clue is to never give up because no dreams are made of this. It's actually the beauty of life, that you're never finished, you're always taking up new challenges.

Studio im. Agnieszki Osieckiej, when the concert took place, is a small, intimate venue. I was there for the first time and I really enjoyed that place. I guess all the concerts here are special. In this case it was not any different. On paper the setlist was rather an ordinary one, but when the band got on stage and they started the show I knew this was going to be an unique experience. It was my 13th Ray's concert and I thought this set cannot surprise me. Well, I was wrong. Whole band had a great day and their did their best to satisfy both old fans and to gather some new ones. The first hour of the show was broadcasted live on Radio Trójka.

Ray and his band played following songs in the order as stated below:
1. Another Day
2. Easier That Way
3. Show Me The Way
4. Lemon Yellow Sun
